What is a good WPM score?

Average adult typing speed is around 40 WPM. Professional typists reach 65-75 WPM. Top competitive typists exceed 120 WPM.

How is WPM calculated?

WPM = (correct characters / 5) / minutes elapsed. Dividing by 5 is the standard word-length approximation used by typing tests worldwide.

Does accuracy affect my score?

Yes. Only correct characters count toward your final WPM. A 60 WPM run with 95% accuracy is reported as the effective speed you actually delivered.

Do I need to create an account?

No. The test runs entirely in your browser. Results are stored locally if you want to come back and compare.
