days after the visit of Renzo to the lazaretto, Lucy left it with

the good widow. A general quarantine having been ordered, they

passed the period of it together in the house of the latter. The

time was employed in preparing Lucy's wedding clothes; and, the

quarantine terminated, they set off on their journey. We could

add, they arrived, but, notwithstanding our desire to yield to
