follies, pretend not to hear them, because, if you contradict

them, it may go ill with you now, and if you argue with them, it

may go ill with you hereafter; and take care, when you hear any

dangerous remarks, turn away your head, and call out 'Coming,

sir.' I will endeavour to return as soon as possible."
